10:49 a.m. EST - THE FIRST TRADE OF THE DAY HAS OFFICIALLY HAPPENED. Sorry. I'm yelling. I've had a lot of coffee. Anyway. The Nashville Predators have acquired Andrei Kostitsyn from the Montreal Canadiens for their 2nd round pick in 2013 and the conditional pick they got in Hal GIll trade. Blockbuster! That conditional pick is clearly very highly-coveted. Expect it to go back and forth all day. Let's go to the Milbury scale, shall we?

Yeah, not very exciting. Although reuniting the Kostityns is always risky.

10:17  a.m. EST -- Rick Nash talks are beginning to heat up. Sportsnet's Darren Millard suggested that the San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs have actually made offers (progress!), with the Leafs' package including Joffrey Lupul. Mike Zeisberger suggests that Nashville has also made a strong push.

In other intriguing news out of Nashville, Bob McKenzie suggests that the Predators are attempting to reunite the Kostitsyn brothers. "Strong rumours of Andrei Kostityn to Nashville," he tweeted.

The only person in Vancouver that hasn't traded Mason Raymond is Canucks' GM Mike Gillis. Raymond's well aware, too. From the Vancouver Sun:

"If your name is being thrown around or whatever, I mean you are going to hear it, and we're in a hockey market," Raymond said. "Again, I am not going to speculate. It's part of the game and if it happens, it happens and that is out of my control."

Asked if he would be disappointed to be moved, Raymond said: "I am not even going there because as of right now I am a Vancouver Canuck and that's where I want to be."

10:00  a.m. EST -- The New York Islanders continue to intrigue. According to Chris Botta, they may be using the deadline to attempt to scare P.A. Parenteau into "signing on their terms." Will that work? Botta adds that Snow wants a 1st round draft pick and a player if PAP (as his name is hilariously being acronymized on Twitter) is to move. I hope that happens, just so I can use multiple Milbury heads.

Meanwhile, the most exciting movement of the day so far is non-movement: Pierre Lebrun reports that the San Jose Sharks' plane has been grounded in Minnesota due to mechanical problems. Or perhaps Doug Wilson is simply doing his best to keep the team away from Sportsnet because they're ALL ABOUT TO BE TRADED.
