In Puck Headlines on Wednesday, we presented a months-old French-language Sidney Crosby commercial for Sports Experts, a Quebec-based sports apparel retailer.
Via DJ at 87SidneyCrosby.com — "your number one source for Sidney Crosby, the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins & Gold Medal Olympian" — there are some recent additions to the Crosby sporting goods commercial oeuvre. Here's Sid working as a salesman for SportChek, part of the same retail family, striking awe in a young fan:
Coincidentally, that was the same look Mark Letestu had when he skated up with Crosby and Malkin last season ...
Here's another Sid commercial in which a SportChek pal attempts to bring a little pizzazz to Crosby's Reebok line:
My gawd, we'd buy everything in the Crosby "DIS" collection were it ever to happen.
Nice work by Sid to remind us all that Alex Ovechkin doesn't have the market cornered on advertising whimsy, despite this and this and this and this. OK, so maybe Crosby has come catching up to do. If he ever wants to have his disembodied melon inside of a bowling bag like Ovechkin's and needs someone to take his head off, we do have David Steckel's number.
