Watching this video from the St. Louis Blues' 3-2 victory at the Dallas Stars on Saturday night, your heart goes out to Stars goalie Richard Bachman. Because this Kris Russell fluke-fest was just unfair:
Russell's goal at 11:05 of the first second period, opening the scoring, was an oddity: His wide-angle shot deflected off of someone near the Dallas goal and shot straight up in the air. It fell to the ice right near Bachman's right post and then bounced over the goal line.
That goal was Russell's first in 32 games. And, of course, this is exactly as he drew it up.
