Here are your Puck Headlines: a glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

• Your bit of hockey random: The Claude Giroux jersey spotted at the Daytona 500. Puck Daddy endorses the NHL jersey infiltration of all major sporting and entertainment events, and will not rest until we see someone rocking a Max Talbot sweater at the Oscars. [Via Dryan32 and socialmdb]

• Nicklas Lidstrom will miss the Detroit Red Wings' game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, allegedly due to his injured ankle but more likely due to something robot parts-related. [CP]

• Remember all that stuff about Cody Hodgson potentially asking for a trade? Poppycock, he says! [Post Media]

• Jonathan Toews will miss his fifth straight game for the Chicago Blackhawks. [ESPN Chicago]

• The San Jose Sharks released the following today on Coach Todd McLellan: "Todd continues to make progress in his recovery from the stick incident in Minnesota on Sunday evening but is still experiencing concussion-like symptoms.  Thus, he will not be behind the bench until cleared by doctors to resume his coaching duties, beginning with tonight's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.  While Todd will continue to provide his input on the team, we have full confidence in the abilities of Assistant Coaches Matt Shaw and Jay Woodcroft to lead the team in Todd's absence. Our main concern at this point is for Todd's full and complete recovery."

• Joe Corvo will no longer seek to end Kyle Turris for that high hit, "apologizing for the outburst which he called 'foot-in-mouth syndrome' and felt had put his own 'individual priorities over team priorities.'" [NESN]

• Sad news: "Montreal Canadiens hockey legend Jean Beliveau suffered a stroke overnight and was admitted to hospital, the National Hockey League team announced Tuesday." [Y! News]

• Interesting bit about how the end of fighting might be upon us in juniors. Said David Branch: "One of the causes of concussions is fighting. And I believe that there is more and more recognition that our game does not need fighting to survive, to be part of the entertainment package, you might say, because of the concerns of injuries and other concerns that could very well be a byproduct of fighting." • Rudy Kelly is in awe of Daniel Winnik's shorts. [Battle of Cali]

• Claude Noel is takin' 'er easy with the Winnipeg Jets: "And we're going to have to try to manage the time around the games as best we can. I'll have to make sure I get feedback from the players and make sure we deal with this intelligently." [Slam]

• The Rangers move on without Rick Nash. [CBS Local]

• Why inaction is better than overreaction for the Washington Capitals: "That this team has issues is not in question; that they could be fixed yesterday or even in the few weeks leading up to yesterday, is. Uncertainty surrounds this team, from whether their top center will be back to whether they'll make the playoffs to how far they can go if they do (and even whether they'll be the sacrificial lamb in the first round or not, which isn't exactly a guarantee - as we've seen, who you draw in the first round makes a difference). And while I may be in the minority here, I'd much rather see this team make the final push as constructed than see deals made for the sake of making deals. Inaction, at times, is better than reaction, and is most certainly better than overreaction." [Japers' Rink]

• Darcy's deadline moves have inspired the Sabres Nation: "Imagine sending a couple of picks and a player to Anaheim for Bobby Ryan or Los Angeles for Dustin Brown!" [The Puck Stops Here]

• Finally, in a galaxy far, far away …
