Remember "My Super Sweet 16" on MTV, which showed the world the luxurious excess of six-figured birthday parties for young adults? The show that made you feel horrendous for having your party at a local Elks Lodge and having your parents gift your uncle's 1998 Dodge Neon to you instead of a new BMW like they get on MTV?
Sure, there was a bit of inherent jealousy in watching the show, but there was also a sense of awe at the sheer scope and audacity of these parties.
Which brings us to David Cohen's Bar Mitzvah.
In celebration of his becoming a man, David, a hockey player and a dedicated puckhead, evidently wanted a hockey-themed party. So David's family held his Bar Mitzvah at Palm Beach Ice Works in West Palm Beach, Fla.
On the ice.

Wow, did that look awesome. The on-ice chair dance should be a mandatory part of every Cup celebration.
Vodka ice luges for the 'rents, ice skating around the dance floor, the Bobby Orr photo, the entire thing taking place on the rink … and to think, our threshold for a successful Bar Mitzvah used to be a decent party favor and if they avoided playing "The Electric Slide."
Mazel tov young David, and congratulations for not holding some kind of meshugana basketball party.
