No. 1 Star: Braden Holtby, Washington Capitals
After a shot to the mask forced starter Michal Neuvirth from the game after the first period, Holtby entered and failed to let a shot by him. Holtby stopped all 21 shots he faced, including all three in the shootout as the Capitals got by the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1. Alex Semin tied the game with 5:32 left in the third and then Alex Ovechkin put home the only goal in the shootout:
No. 2 Star: Mike Ribeiro, Dallas Stars
Ribeiro helped set up Brendan Morrow's winner 38 seconds into overtime as the Stars completed a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Ribeiro scored his 13th of the season and assisted on two others, while Jamie Benn scored for the fourth straight game (and second straight shorthanded goal) as Dallas ended its four-game road trip three places higher than it started in the Western Conference standings. Ribeiro now has nine points in his last nine games.
No. 3 Star: Andy MacDonald, St. Louis Blues
MacDonald followed up a two-point performance against the Islanders on Saturday with a two-goal night and a goal in the shootout during a 5-4 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. In his last 14 games, MacDonald has scored eight of his 15 goals on the season. Ben Bishop relieved Ty Conklin and stopped 19 of 20 shots to snap a personal three-game losing streak.
Honorable mention: Dwayne Roloson might have taken the loss but performed well in a 29-save effort ... Dennis Wideman led all players in TOI with 28:02 ... Justin Williams' assist was his 400th NHL point.
