Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com reports that Philadelphia Flyers GM Paul Holmgren, 55, was involved in a bike accident in South Jersey on Monday and remained hospitalized in Camden, NJ on Monday night:
Holmgren suffered broken ribs and a broken shoulder, other injuries and required stitches. He was taken Cooper Medical Center.
News of the accident made its way around the Flyers earlier on Monday, judging from the reaction of defenseman Matt Carle on Twitter this evening:
"Heard about Holmer earlier today, was waiting to comment on it until the media found out...hope he's doing alright...scary, scary situation."
Indeed. Here's more from Philadelphia Sports Daily:
Police in Avalon said Holmgren fell off his bike and was injured Monday but wouldn't release details on the time or location of the accident.
He's listed as being in stable condition.
