Puck Headlines: Trading Alex Semin; worst NHL announcers

• In case you haven't heard, the Florida Panthers signed a few free agents this offseason. In the sense that we've seen smaller city councils. Watch their introduction here and follow On Frozen Pond for more coverage of their big unveiling today.

• Speaking of maligned announcers, Pierre McGuire is facing off against Reggie Miller in the Joe Morgan Memorial on Awful Announcing. "There are many hockey fans that just don't like Pierre McGuire.  It could be the way he gushes about certain players, the way his cliches and style grates, or even how he pronounces certain words.  Mainly, it's the way McGuire carries himself as an expert in spite of his 23-37-7 record as an NHL head coach." [AA]

• The Dallas Stars still need an owner. Mike Heika reports that local guy Chuck Greenberg has been approved to bid on the team. "Vancouver businessman Tom Gaglardi is in an exclusive negotiating window and hopes to put in a signed purchase agreement soon, the process still will allow for anyone else to bid above Gaglardi's price." [Dallas Stars Blog]

• As we've said before, it doesn't matter what Winnipeg does this summer or this season. They could go 0-82, and no one up there is going to leap off the bandwagon. They're a Teflon team. But, that said, here's a good look from Ryan Kennedy on their offseason. [THN]

• Why the Vancouver Canucks don't need an enforcer. It must be because of the way they pushed around the Bruins in brutalizing their way to the Stanley Cup. Oh, wait … [Nucks Misconduct]
