Pass or Fail: Nashville and Florida unveil new jerseys

ST. PAUL -- A great marketing opportunity for NHL teams to unveil new jerseys is during the annual Entry Draft. As teams hold Draft Watch parties for their fans at home, they get the opportunity to see the new-look threads on their newest prospects.

The Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers were two teams that debuted new jerseys during Round 1 of the Draft on Friday night.

Florida has brought back a red jersey for the first time since 2007 under their new marketing campaign, "We See Red". Thankfully, no piping in these.

After the disaster that were their baby and navy blue thirds from last season, seeing the Panthers rock their own red once again is a nice change of pace for an NHL team. We're so conditioned to expect teams to produce jerseys that are navy blue or black that we welcome any and all other colors.

Nashville's thirds leaked this week after the team announced logo changes and while we're disappointed to see piping, the secondary features make for some of the more unique additions to an NHL jersey.

On the Forecheck has the photographic details of the entire jersey, including the guitar pick shoulder patch, a collar that features piano keys and guitar strings that go through the numbers on the back.

The strings are an interesting aspect of the Preds' new road jerseys kind of and remind us of when our printer cartridge runs out of ink.

We're really holding out hope that the rumored maise and blue home jerseys are indeed the real deal and not just because they aren't mustard color.

So now we turn to you.

Pass or Fail ...

1. Florida's red home jerseys.

2. Nashville's white road jerseys.
